Ella is a sweet girl who loves a fuss. Sadly she does have arthritis in her spine and will need to be on long term pain killers which we will contribute towards if it helps get Ella a home. Because of her arthritis, she does struggle to walk and will not be able to go for long walks, instead she would prefer a garden to potter around in. She can’t be homed with young children as this is the reason she was brought to us, she wasn’t getting on with the children in the home. She would also suit a home with no other animals

Adorable Ella is a sweet, affectionate girl who deserves a loving home for her golden years. Ella was in a very sorry state when she arrived at the shelter, having spent the last 4 years living in a garden and calling a shed home, a family member stepped in to take Ella into their home but unfortunately she was scared of the children and would growl at them. When Ella arrived it was clear that she needed medical attention due to her being extremely overweight at 43kg and barely able to walk more than few steps without falling down. She was put on to painkillers straight the way and that definitely perked her up with her managing short distances with a bit more ease. After an X-ray it was found that she has spinal arthritis which means she will need a daily dose Metacam (a painkiller and anti inflammatory) for the rest of her life which she happily eats off of her breakfast. Because of the arthritis, Ella just needs a nice garden to be able to potter around in as unfortunately she can’t manage walks. Hopefully if she continues on a good quality, light food she will manage to lose a few kilos which will help her joints. Ella is ideally looking for a companion that has the time to give her lots of love and her favourite thing, belly rubs!! She is very gentle and eager to please. She enjoys her healthy treats, like pigs ears. She is a very clean girl in her kennel. This amazing pooch always greets you with a waggy tail and a huge smile, she more than deserves the best retirement. The love she will give in return will be worth its weight in gold!
