Hello everyone at Leicester Animal Rescue! I just thought I would send you a quick update on handsome Blaze.
Blaze is doing really well in his new home, we love him to bits! He never fails to make us laugh!
He is so friendly and affectionate, he loves cuddles from anyone and everyone. He has already made friends with the children next door!
He is a very hungry boy, who is constantly looking for something to eat! I have to watch him like a hawk!
His new sister Bandit, was absolutely furious when we brought Blaze home.
When we started the introductions between them, he was so interested in her and wanted to play, he was very patient but she wasnt having any of it, she would hiss at him and then scurry off upstairs! She sulked in our bedroom, for a good few weeks, barely leaving it at all.
Fast forward a few weeks, and things are completely different now. Bandit is over the initial shock, and is happy for Blaze to be in her presence, they even play together now. Their favourite game is chasing each other, they both take turns doing the chasing!
Blaze has been through a slightly traumatic experience, bless his heart. We have an inflatable hot tub at the top of our garden (you can already see where this is going)
The hot tub has a secure lid so its completely safe when not being used. We were using the hot tub one afternoon, along comes Blaze. We had kind of assumed that he might sense the large body of water (like Bandit had done) and avoid. We were mistaken. He jumped up to say hi to us, and before he knew what was going on, he was in the water! Before we even had time to react, he had clawed his way out.
We had to rinse the chlorine off him, and dry him as best we could. Needless to say that he was not a happy bunny after that experience, which is understandable!
Although in a way, he got the last laugh, because as I mentioned, it was an inflatable hot tub!! (Yes that’s right… he popped it!)
Anyway, I have attached some pictures of Blaze to this email. I hope you can view them.
Thank you for allowing us to adopt Blaze, and thank you for all the great work you do at the shelter.
Kindest Regards
Emmeline
