Paxton

2020-02-06T09:00:53+00:00

Paxton has settled really well. We walk twice a day on Vicky Park where he loves exploring. He also likes walking around  the University buildings with all the outdoor steps and ramps. He's eating well, sleeping right through the night and seems very happy in his new home. He is a bit aggressive with other dogs so id like to talk to you about that if you could give me a ring sometime please just to see what we can do to help him socialise. Here are some pics. He's defintely part of the family already. We've all fallen in love with him!

Luka

2019-12-22T14:37:33+00:00

Just to let you know that although it's only been a few weeks, we can't imagine a time before Luka. Thank you so much for choosing us as his forever family , he is an amazing little dog whose quirky personality reveals its-self more and more each day. He has settled into family life happily- not seeming fazed by anything- and although he likes to share his love, he has quickly become my little shadow! Millie, our other resident dog, now seems happy to share her home with him and even allows him to sniff her, they also help each other out at mealtimes , swapping bowls to clear up any leftovers. Having Luka has also (at aged  11) given her a new lease of life. He loves toys and playing and this has encouraged her to play too, something

Enid (formerly Baby)

2019-12-22T14:32:29+00:00

Dear Leicester Animal Rescue I thought we would share with you an update after a few days to let you know how Baby (now Enid) is settling in to our home. Once she had hidden under the table for a few hours to calm her nerves, Enid became inquisitive about her new surroundings – and hungry – and so decided to venture out to say hello for short periods at a time. Fast forward just 24 hours, and barring the odd period where she retreated behind the sofa for a bit of peace once in a while (which she still does), she was a totally different cat. She has settled in wonderfully and is on the whole confident, energetic and playful. She loves fuss, loves play hunting and wants to find out what is on or behind every single item

Gryffin

2019-12-22T14:27:24+00:00

Hello everyone! I’ve been with my new family for a week now so I thought I’d check in and let you know how I’m getting on! I’ve been having so much fun with my sister Bella! She made sure I knew who she was early on, but I’m okay with her being top dog it means I can be a puppy to my hearts content. I’ve calmed down a lot since I’ve been here and I hardly mouth at all anymore (unless I’m over excited obviously...!). I’ve had some lovely walks and they let me run free today! I had a great time; they kept giving me treats every time I ran back to them when they called my name... winning at life!!! I had to have a bath on the first day I was here because I rolled in

Shadow (formerly Lola)

2019-12-22T14:16:49+00:00

thought I would give an update,as its exactly a year ago today,(11 October) that we gave this beautiful puss, her forever home. She is such a character who loves playing, cuddles and being brushed. Although still nervous of noise and new people, she is a contented happy little soul and is a joy to own. Naming her Shadow is apt, because she is constantly by my side. Thank you all again for your care and for introducing  a ray of sunshine into our lives. Pat and Doug Cox

Flo

2019-12-22T14:14:22+00:00

Thank you so much for letting us bring Flo home; she is an absolute poppet and settling in nicely. Flo loved the smell of outside, was not 100% impressed with the car but has explored her new home thoroughly - highlights for Flo are the cat toy on a fishing pole, her food and special ‘cat cave’ just for her. Settling in so well, had a wee, eaten fine dry crunches and drank water, played for a good while and had a sleep! And our big ginger cat is scared of her! Go Flo! Thank you again, All the best, Emma and Ned XX

Ziggy

2019-12-01T13:07:26+00:00

Hello, Just sending some pictures of Ziggy enjoying his new home and garden. Thanks very much for letting us rehome him - he's great! He's been learning to be off the lead in a quiet park and play fetch and run, which he only seemed to have done in a garden before. I do have a query, however. He's generally very friendly towards other dogs, but has had a few dominance issues with dogs a similar size to him. Everything will seem ok but then either, or both, dogs will suddenly challenge the other. Ziggy will try to put his paw on their back and be 'top dog'.  We have to pull him away so it doesn't escalate. Is there anything we can do to stop this? Ideally we'd like to train him to be off the lead in bigger

My mum says I am a cheeky numpty I'm not sure what that means but I make her & my dad laugh so it must be a good thing.
