Hi,
following my telephone conversation this afternoon (Monday) this is just a to confirm to yourselves the very sad loss of our lovely dogĀ  Charlie after 10 years of cherished love from him.
Helen had spotted him on your website and always said she knew he would be ours even though we were told he was being visited by someone with their dog to see if they would be ok together.
Helen called later that day to be told it was her lucky day as the two dogs didn’t seem to gel!
We came to see Charlie who,10 years ago was called Tye at the time he was with you.
I remember us taking him outside and this straggly dog racing to the exit gate straightaway, of course it was closed but he wanted out!
Arrangements were made and subject to a check of our garden etc on Nursery Road, Leicester he was ours once he had been neutered.
Unfortunately his woundĀ wasn’t healing quite as it should and Helen managed to persuade yourselves to allow him home to us as long as we ensured he had his meds and was taken for vet checks to ensure all was ok.
Well, over the next few years he’s been on his hols with Maisy, who arrived 5 years ago, to Norfolk and Whitby many times and boat trips in Norfolk and Stratford Upon Avon alongside many car trips.
We did you send a couple of pics from his first holiday.
We moved to Birstall 6 years ago and within 3 minutes we were on Watermead Park that was ‘Charlie Heaven’ as he would strut off always ahead of us and greeting any fellow dog he met on the way but careful to avoid any wandering swans.
I know you will understand how difficult it is to put into words the love he gave us, our family and friends but especially to Helen, his best friend. The love they shared was lovely to see and one of the pics I’ve attached clearly shows this.
December just gone after he’d had a blood test he was found to have indications of liver and kidney failure and an ultrasound scan also revealed he had a mass forming. Quite quickly we could see Charlie was not well although he would amazingly appear to be ok and still go for a walk with his final one over the Rainbow Bridge just before Christmas.
Ā Thankyou
Best Regards
Helen and Melv
