*Our Journey with Loaf**
After losing our beloved 15-year-old Pug, we thought we’d stay a two-pug family. Then we saw Loaf — now known as Lok (though he’ll always be Loafy to us!). We decided to give it some time, telling ourselves, *if he’s meant to be ours, he will be.*
About a week later, we visited him with our other two pugs. I’ll admit, I was a little nervous — about toilet training, bonding, sleeping routines, and whether it might disrupt the calm we’d found. But, of course, I couldn’t leave him in rescue care. So home he came!
The first night was a little restless, as expected. But by the third day, he’d discovered the joy of sleeping in our bed, and by the second week, he had settled perfectly into our routine. At the end of that second week, he picked up his first toy and started to play — such a special moment!
Having already adopted two rescues, I’d forgotten just how much joy, love, and connection a new little soul brings into your life. Bringing Loaf home was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.
To anyone thinking about adopting — be brave and take the plunge. It’s truly the best decision you’ll ever make.
A massive thank-you for giving us the chance to love Loaf. ❤️🐾
